Yoga has the ultimate aim of allowing us to see ourselves clearly. It works through the layers of the body from the physical to energetic to mental and beyond. Western adaptations have lead us to believe that yoga is a work-out for the flexible. This is a myth. Yoga is an in-depth system of energy management that encourages us to use our body, breath and mind so that we can start to see things as they really are.

PRIVATE yoga (IN-PERSON & ONLINE)

Individual sessions are tailored to the specific goals or challenges you have. I design a practice to meet you where you’re at. Most times it will involve a physical movement practice, incorporating breath work, a guided relaxation and possibly some meditation.

You will leave feeling peaceful, centred, more resilient and perhaps even more joyful!

group yoga classes (IN-PERSON)

Group classes are held on Mondays & at Beach Road Body and Mind in Sandy Bay, Hobart. They are themed according to the seasons, the stars, the time of day, the people present. It’s a great way to benefit from the collective energy and get a good dose of joy. It always includes a physical practice suitable to all levels, from complete beginner to advanced yogi, breath work and a guided relaxation. I teach simple, effective yoga.

You will leave feeling like you’ve tapped into the energy in your body, and your mind is calm and peaceful.

Workshops offer the space to go deeper, and learn the why’s and how’s of yoga or explore avenues not taught in group classes. For example:

A simple, considered & effective yoga practice

 

I believe yoga is for everybody & every body. I promise: No handstands, no headstands, no pretzel shapes – if doing the splits is a life goal, I’m not the teacher for you.

I am interested in your internal landscape, how simple movement and shapes affect your energy, your breath and your mind. This doesn’t mean you won’t break a sweat, but each pose is picked with purpose for the impact it produces.

My classes are ideal for those new to yoga or experienced yogis wanting to tune into the subtle energy bodies.

Clients choose private yoga for a range of reasons, including having unique physical challenges, not enjoying group environments, wanting to go deeper with a practice designed specifically for their goals (or as a remedy for their astrological chart!).

Held in-person at Beach Road Body and Mind (Sandy Bay, Hobart) or via Zoom anywhere in the world. Both have the option to record the class to use between sessions.

Why I’m equipped to guide your yoga journey

MY yoga journey

Like most people, I arrived treating yoga as “exercise” for my body. But the experience of a well-informed yoga class takes us beyond the body. In fact, it takes us to a place where the physical body dissolves, the mind becomes silent and we start to recall our inherent joyful nature.

The path of yoga:

  • Dissolve restrictions to the flow of energy in the body

  • Calm the senses

  • Neutralise the unconscious patterns

  • Increase discernment

  • Remember your true nature

Having a curious mind and a taste of the depths of yoga, I stayed. And sought my own amazing teachers that could explain methodically both the physical and subtle aspects of yoga. More than just studying, it’s experiencing yoga in your own body that keeps most of us coming back for more.
